HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A man suspected of being under the influence of alcohol ran his vehicle off of the Pennyrile Parkway last night and attempted to flee from law enforcement.
Just after midnight on March 28, deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Offices responded to a report of a vehicle leaving the roadway near the 23-mile marker of the Pennyrile Parkway, said a news release from CCSO. The vehicle was located in a nearby field.
The 61-year-old suspect attempted to flee on foot when deputies approached. He was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit, with deputies reporting that he showed signs of intoxication.
After a records check, it was discovered that the suspect had a suspended license from prior DUI convictions. Deputies charged him with his third DUI offence, along with driving on a suspended license, fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, and leaving the scene of an accident.
