HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Dozens of people joined a No Kings protest outside of the Christian County Justice Center in downtown Hopkinsville as part of the nationwide movement on March 28.

“There is just so much wrong happening right now,” said Colleen Schadewald, who was among the protesters. She is a military veteran who traveled from Cadiz to participate, having been in all three No Kings protests locally. Between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. the chanting crowd in Hopkinsville lined the side of the road with handmade signs displaying the No Kings message in various ways to garner attention.

“I think more people need to see that there are people with our ideals that are out here in ‘small red town USA’. We’re not all the same,” said Marlaina Wilde during the protest, adding that she hopes people will see the signs and have the courage to speak up for what they believe in.

According to the No Kings website, the peaceful protests are being used to speak out against President Donald Trump’s administration. This is the third nationwide protest since June of 2025.

“This division and making us hate each other is wrong,” protester Linda Jones told Christian County Now. Simultaneously hundreds of rallies were held throughout the country including at the nearby cities of Madisonville, Paducah, Central City and Clarksville, Tennessee.

There were no counterprotesters present that were visible by Christian County Now.
