HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – This weekend are so many things to check out in and around Hopkinsville and Christian County! This includes the Butterfly Festival in Oak Grove with the release of over 2,000 butterflies, the Annual Trail of Tears Pow Wow in Hopkinsville, and a Doggie Dip, Yoga in the Park, poetry night, and more.
9/11 Community Tribute Workout
- Where: Stadium of Champions
- When: Sept. 6 at 7:30 a.m.

- Details: A morning of prayer, movement and tribute as they remember the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001. There will be a 45-minute tribute workout, all levels are welcome. Then the Firefighter Stair Climb Challenge of symbolically climbing 110 floors. Fire trucks will be on sight for kids, along with kid’s activities. Strollers are welcome for walking and running the track.

38th Annual Trail of Tears Pow Wow

- Details: Celebrate Native American culture at the Trail of Tears Pow Wow with grand entries at 1 p.m. both days, plus a Saturday evening session. Enjoy prize-winning dance and drum contests, cultural performances including intertribal dancing, sacred songs, flute playing, storytelling, and more. Vendors will offer traditional foods and crafts, and families can enjoy face painting, free kids’ crafts, and a sensory-friendly environment on Sunday morning.
