HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – This weekend is jam packed with events for the entire family, kicking off with The Wild Robot in the park Friday night. Saturday you can hop all over the city to see hummingbirds, celebrate the Kelly Green Men, do some shopping on Fort Campbell Boulevard, and hang out downtown.

- Details: Families can bring chairs and a blanket to watch The Wild Robot! There will be food trucks on site with bouncers, and family activities with the Hopkinsville-Christian County Library beginning at 6 p.m.

- Where: Jeffers Bend Environmental Center
- Cost: Free
- Details: Last year’s festival brought it over 200 people, and this year the fun continues with families able to watch migrating hummingbirds, listen to local folklore, participate in a poster contest, and learn how to make bird feeders. Most importantly, the Jeffers Bend Botanical Garden will attract migrating hummingbirds, allowing them to catch, band, and release them during the event.

- Details: Join the community for a day of out-of-this-world fun as they celebrate the famous Kelly–Hopkinsville encounter! Expect weird, wild, and wonderful fun for the whole family with food trucks, games, and plenty of photo ops with some very special visitors. Costumes encouraged. Tin foil hats optional but appreciated.

- Details: The community-wide event highlights businesses between Hopkinsville Milling Company and Bradford Square Mall. People can shop and explore fun special events and festivities at each store.

- Where: Various locations in Hopkinsville
- Cost: Free
- Details: The Hopkinsville Art Guild has gathered a string of local artists to be featured throughout the city. The community has the opportunity to drive along a pre-mapped path on a free, self-guided tour through 14 locations in Christian County and view the work of over 40 artists.
Saturday Sleuths: Alien Art Invasion
- When: Aug. 23 at 10:30 a.m.
- Where: Pennyroyal Area Museum, 217 East Ninth Street
- Cost: $3, free for museum members
- Details: Designed for children ages 6-12 years old, this program invites students to become detectives and help solve a history mystery at the museum. In honor of Alien Invasion Day, kids will have a special out of this world experiences.
Grand Opening of Downtown Entertainment District
- When: Aug. 23 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Where: Downtown Hopkinsville
- Cost: Free
- Details: Hopkinsville is celebrating it’s new Downtown Entertainment District, and you’re invited to the Grand Opening Celebration. Enjoy an evening of live music, food, shopping, games, and more all while sipping and strolling through downtown.
Fish Fry at Casey Jones Distillery
- When: Aug. 23 from 12:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
- Where: Casey Jones Distillery
- Cost: Free admission, charges for food and drinks
- Details: Palate Junkies will be frying up southern style fish plus classic sides like green beans, slaw, hushpuppies, and fries. The tasting room at Casey Jones will also be open and cocktails will be available all day.

- Where: The Alhambra Theater
- Cost: Free
- Details: Along with the grand opening of Hopkinsville’s Downtown Entertainment District, the Pennyroyal Arts Council and Charlotte’s on 6th is inviting the community to experience the sights, sounds, and flavors of Spain in the alley by the theater. There will be a Spanish wine tasting, live violin performance, and a community art experience.
