HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – This summer is kicking off with some fun events for families in Christian County. Attend the first Hoptown Hoppers game of the season, meet dinosaurs at the library, get a psychic reading, or hang out at a local distillery.

Hoptown Hoppers Season Opener White Out Night

  • Where: Hopkinsville High School Tiger Field in Hopkinsville
  • When: May 29 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Cost: Free admission
  • Details: The Hoptown Hoppers will kick off their season with White Out Night at HHS Tiger Field. Fans are encouraged to wear white and help “Pack the Park” for opening night. The national anthem will begin at 6:15 p.m. followed by first pitch at 6:30 p.m.

Summer Reading Kick-Off Party

  • Where: Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library in Hopkinsville
  • When: May 30, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library will launch its Summer Reading Program with a family-friendly block party featuring interactive “life-like” dinosaurs, face painting, food trucks and games. The first 100 children in attendance will receive a special activity book.

Mystical Moon Market

  • Where: Valor Hall Conference and Event Center in Oak Grove
  • When: May 30, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Cost: $5 admission, free for children 12 and under
  • Details: Mystical Moon Market will make its first appearance in Oak Grove with more than 40 vendors and intuitive readers offering crystals, handmade art, candles, jewelry, herbs, spiritual tools and other metaphysical items. Attendees can also receive psychic and intuitive readings, explore holistic offerings and connect with others in the spiritual and metaphysical community.

Casey’s ‘Til Late

  • Where: Casey Jones Distillery in Hopkinsville
  • When: May 30, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Cost: Free admission
  • Details: Casey Jones Distillery will host another “Casey’s ‘Til Late” family friendly event featuring a fish fry from Palate Junkies from 12:30-8 p.m. Guests can also enjoy live music from The Burbs from 6:45-8:45 p.m. during the evening.
