- Details: The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County and the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library will celebrate the anniversary of the 1955 Kelly alien encounter with a special alien-themed storytime and craft activity.

- Details: Relay for Life will host its annual fundraising event under this year’s theme, “Wild for a Cure.” The nonprofit supports local cancer patients and their families while raising money for cancer research and more. Those interested in forming a walking team can reach out.

- Details: GoblinCon UFO and Paranormal Expo is a 2-day exposition celebrating the anniversary of The Kelly/Hopkinsville Goblin and all things paranormal hosted by Visit Hopkinsville. Featuring over 70 vendors and interactive exhibits, engaging talks from renowned speakers, participate in educational workshops, and enjoy captivating panels covering paranormal topics from aliens to ghosts to bigfoot.

- Details: Take a self-guided tour featuring 35 local artists and live demonstrations. Event sites include Betty Liles Art Studio, The Crusty Pig, Linda Pierce Chalice Art Gallery, Susan Bergman Pottery Studio, 6th Street Boutique, First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, Baked, Bella Marie Boutique, The Book and Bottle Shop and the Pennyroyal Area Museum.

- Details: The library will host a free showing of Galaxy Quest. The sci-fi comedy follows the cast of a former television series who are recruited by aliens who believe the actors’ fictional adventures were real. The movie is for ages 13 and older. Popcorn and drinks will be provided.
2nd Annual Downtown Block Party

- When: Saturday, Aug. 22, 5-9 p.m.
- Cost: Free
- Details: The Downtown Entertainment District will host an evening of free live music, a bike night honoring Brandon Oldham, a car show, food, drinks and entertainment throughout downtown. Attendees are encouraged to bring friends and family and enjoy an evening celebrating the community.

- When: Saturday, Aug. 22, 10 a.m.-9 p.m.

- Details: Casey Jones Distillery will host an evening featuring a southern-style fish fry from Palate Junkies from 12:30-8:30 p.m. Happy hour begins at 5 p.m., with live music from Rowdy Dog starting at 6:45 p.m. Guests can also enjoy tastings, Fill Your Own Bottle and Revere Small Batch bourbon. The event is family-friendly, and no reservations are required.
