HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – This Halloween weekend there are some fun activities to check out around the city, kicking off with trick or treating downtown Friday night and then people can then make their way over to the Alhambra for a free scary movie night. Saturday there’s a music bash, open mic night, a walk through the cemetery, and a spooky bookstore after dark event.
- When: Oct. 31 from 3:30–5:30 p.m.
- Where: South Main Street, downtown Hopkinsville
- Details: Celebrate Halloween afternoon with free trick-or-treating in downtown Hopkinsville, hosted by Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation. Children are invited to come in costume and bring their own candy bags. Businesses and organizations will be passing out candy along South Main Street.
The Night of the Living Dead free movie
- When: Oct. 31 at 6:30 p.m.
- Where: Alhambra Theatre
- Details: Enjoy a free movie showing of the remake of George Romero’s 1968 horror classic, The Night of the Living Dead. The film follows a group of survivors who take refuge in a farmhouse as the recently dead rise from their graves and hunger for human flesh.
- When: Nov. 1 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Where: The Rustic Event Center
- Cost: $15 for adults; children under 12 free.
- Details: Get your costumes ready for a full day of live music, food trucks, vendors, and Halloween fun at The Rustic Event Center. The event features performances by Jay Ammo (a Voice contestant with a four-chair turn), Jun Espinosa, Colin Isotti, and Still Moves with Hopkinsville’s own Cody Kirby on drums. Cash prizes will be awarded for the best costumes. All profits benefit the Disabled American Veterans Association.
- When: Nov. 1, Tours at 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. (with supper at 6 p.m.)
- Cost: $25 per person; $5 discount for Museum Members.
- Where: Riverside Cemetery, 119 Metcalfe Lane, Hopkinsville, KY
- Details: The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County invite the community to honor local ancestors during Soul Stroll, a guided walking tour through Riverside Cemetery. The evening includes storytelling, history, and remembrance inspired by All Saints’ Day and Día de los Muertos traditions. Each stroll covers about one mile and lasts 90 minutes, with a catered supper served between tours.

- Where: Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library
- Details: Enjoy an evening of poetry, music, art, and spoken word during Open Mic Night at the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library. The event is free and open to the public for ages 18 and older. Poets may perform up to two poems, and singer/songwriters may perform one song, original or cover. Mics and amps will be provided, but performers should bring their own instruments.
Bookstore After Dark: Spooky Edition
- When: Nov. 1 from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m.
- Where: The Book & Bottle Shop
- Cost: $10 advanced tickets
- Details: Celebrate Halloween with a chilling after-hours shopping experience featuring spooky books, themed cocktails and snacks, a costume contest with prizes, and a haunting photo shoot with The Radiant Raven. The event offers exclusive access to curated titles featuring ghosts, witches, vampires, werewolves, horror, and paranormal stories. Tickets are limited to 50 per entry hour. Recommended for ages 16 and up.
