HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – There are some great events to check out this weekend in Christian County to check out including a chance to raise money for the library, watch a parade, make an ornament with the kids, or catch a piano show in Oak Grove.

Dance Party Fundraiser

  • When: Nov. 7 from 7-9 p.m.
  • Where: Hopkinsville Brewing Company
  • Cost: $20
  • Details: Join Friends of the Library for a throwback dance party with the best hits from the 70s, 80s, and 90s.

Veterans Honor Parade

  • When: Nov. 8 at 10 a.m.
  • Where: Downtown Hopkinsville
  • Details: The route of the parade will start at the War Memorial Building with JROTC, bands, and veterans marching. It will end at the Christian County Justice Center for a ceremony.

Aaron McNeil House food distribution

  • When: Nov. 8 from 8-10 a.m.
  • Where: Western Kentucky State Fairgrounds
  • Details: Christian County residents can drive through and receive free groceries.

Handprint Ornament Party

  • When: Nov. 8 from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m.
  • Where: The Book and Bottle Shop
  • Cost: $15
  • Details: Desire to give a hand-crafted keepsake to your family but don’t have the time to “get it all together”? Just show up and they will capture the hand or footprint of children and make an adorable ornament ready to hang on a tree or gift to a family member. No limit while supplies.

NY NY Dueling Pianos

  • When: Nov. 8 at 8 p.m.
  • Where: Oak Grove Racing, Gaming, and Hotel
  • Cost: Tickets starting at $34
  • Details: They are bringing a Piece of the New York pie down here to Kentucky with this comedy-based dueling piano show is always a fun, high-energy party-in-a-box! The pianists sing and play everything from Jimmy Buffet, Garth Brooks, Maroon 5, Billy Joel, Tom Petty, Jerry Lee Lewis, Disney, Bruno Mars, Elvis, Madonna, Ed Sheeran, Metallica and just about anything else.
