HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Fort Care held yet another successful food distribution of deer meat and groceries that reached over 1,800 soldiers, veterans, and their families on March 6.

Ron Fahy, co-founder of the organization, and his dedicated team with Fort Care got to work setting up early Thursday morning at Liberty Chapel on Fort Campbell to organize food and prepare for the steady stream of cars. During the distribution, 30 pallets of food were loaded into cars.

Alongside the regular food, 7,000 pounds of deer meet was also available. These contributions were made possible by Kentucky Hunters for the Hungry, Lone Oak Custom Butchering, Walmart in Oak Grove, and Yaipak. This project was founded by Fahy along with Garrison Chapin and the Liberty Chapel Staff.

Fort Care and their volunteers holds regular Honor Package Grocery Giveaways as a way to honor military members, families, and veterans for their gallant efforts and sacrifices. Their previous food distribution was in December, where they supplied thousands of people with holiday meal boxes.
