HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A man has been arrested after intentionally crashing his car into a tow truck, according to a report from Hopkinsville Police Department.

Around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, a tow truck driver tried to remove a vehicle that had been abandoned on private property on East 23rd Street. A man then ran from across the street and got into an altercation with the tow truck driver. He then got into his personal truck, crashed into the tow truck, and fled the scene. The tow truck driver told officers the man appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

When officers arrived, they canvased the area and were able to get permission to search the house the man had come from. He was found hiding upstairs and was arrested.

The man is facing five charges including assault, wanton endangerment, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, and public intoxication.
