HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Both lanes of I-24 westbound are blocked Monday afternoon in Christian County due to an oversized load that has become stuck. It is currently sitting on barriers that were in place for ongoing bridge work over the Red River Bridge.
This blockage occurred around 1:30 p.m. just west of the Kentucky Welcome Center, approximately two miles west of the Kentucky-Tennessee State Line, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. The final exit before the blockage is Exit 1 to Clarksville on the Tennessee side of the Stateline.
Engineers are surveying the scene. At this time there is not an estimated duration for the blockage.
