HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Christian County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people after seizing illegal narcotics after a traffic stop yesterday.
A Hopkinsville man was driving his vehicle on High Street when he failed to use a turn signal, said a citation report. Deputies noticed the passenger of the vehicle was a man with warrants.
After a traffic stop, deputies detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, according to deputy reports. Both the driver and passenger were detained, and the driver admitted that there was marijuana in the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle yielded marijuana, a digital scale, and a bag containing three rocks of cocaine.
The driver was charged with failure to use turn signal, no insurance, trafficking marijuana, first-degree trafficking a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving on a suspended license. The passenger was charged with failure to appear warrants, first-offense possession of a controlled substance, and tampering with physical evidence.
Both suspects were arrested and transported to the Christian County Jail.
