HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Hopkinsville Crime Stoppers is fundraising by hosting a True Crime Trivia Night on May 9 at Hopkinsville Brewing Company. True Crime fans can form a team with up to six people for a night of mystery and mayhem while raising money for an organization that helps bring criminals at large to justice.

“Crime Stoppers is an organization that thrives on continuous community support,” said Officer Royale Marfil. Funds raised during the event will go directly into the Crime Stoppers reward account, which gives citizens monetary compensation in exchange for tips that lead to the arrest of individuals. Currently, the organization receives around $120 in donations each month, with the average reward payout being over $200.

The idea for a true crime themed trivia night came about at a recent board meeting as a fun and engaging way to draw in the public. Collaborating with Junior Auxiliary of Hopkinsville, questions during the event will explore topics of popular true crime stories, testing fans of various podcasts and documentaries about their knowledge.

“Crime Stoppers plays a crucial role in supporting local law enforcement and helping keep our community safe,” said Marfil. “Officers can’t be everywhere at once, and that’s where vigilant community members come in. With the help of the Crime Stoppers tip line, citizens can report suspicious activity anonymously, offering vital information that might otherwise go unseen.”

The cost is $150 per team, which supplies drink tickets and two large pizzas. Only 14 teams will be permitted during the event. There will also be door prizes available at $2 per entry, sponsored by local establishments like Alhambra Theatre, Horseshoe Steakhouse, Ruffled Willow, Bluegrass Splash, Little Creek Family Farm, and The Book & Bottle Shop.
