HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Tunnel to Towers Foundation has paid off the mortgage of a Hopkinsville family in honor of fallen Chief Warrant Officer 2 Aaron Healy, who served in the 101st Airborne Division. This year, Tunnel to Towers will provide 40 families with the stability and security of a mortgage-free home between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve as part of the 2024 Season of Hope.
CWO2 Aaron Healy was killed on March 29, 2023, when two Army Black Hawk helicopters collided during a training mission. Nine soldiers were killed in the crash in Trigg County, Kentucky.

CWO2 Healy enlisted in the Army in April 2010 and upon graduation, he was assigned to the 563rd Aviation Support Battalion. In 2021, he attended Warrant Officer Candidate School and was subsequently assigned to the 101st Airborne Division. CWO2 Healy served as an Aeromedical Evacuation Pilot for the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division since 2022.
Healy was deployed to Afghanistan from 2011-2012 and again in 2014. On the day of the accident, he had just been promoted to Chief Warrant Officer 2.
He is survived by his wife, Sierra who he had known since high school, and their two daughters, Blakelyn and Dakota.
“Aaron loved being a pilot but loved his family more. Nothing made him happier than coming home to me and the girls,” said Sierra Healy. She added that this gift from Tunnel to Towers “allows her to focus on her master’s program instead of how she is going to pay the bills.”
The Tunnel to Towers Gold Star Family Home Program honors the legacy of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country by paying off the mortgage or providing the surviving spouses and young children with mortgage-free homes.
“This holiday season we are blessed to be able to deliver some good news to the Healy family as they continue to heal from the death of their husband and father. CWO2 Healy was a man who loved his family more than anything and we promise to make sure that they are always taken care of,” said Tunnel to Towers Chairman and CEO Frank Siller.
Thanks to the support of Americans from every corner of this great country, by the end of the year the Tunnel to Towers Foundation will have delivered over 200 mortgage-free homes to our heroes and the families they left behind.
