HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The 49th annual Unity Breakfast will be Oct. 26 in Hopkinsville with the theme of Unarmed Truth and Unconditional Love.
The Hopkinsville Human Rights Commission puts on this highly attended event every year during Human Rights Week. A breakfast will be served, and a variety of awards will be given out to people in the community. This includes the Hal & Bettye Thurmond Award, Mayor’s Unity Award, Standard Award for Excellence, and Volunteer of the Year Award.
The Hopkinsville Human Rights Commission, HRC’s City of Compassion Committee, and the City of Hopkinsville will be presenting the awards.
The mission statement for the Human Rights Council is, “Promoting unity, understanding, accountability, and equal opportunity among all people. Protecting human and civil rights while providing services centered on the values of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.”
The Unity Breakfast is open to the public and will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 26. Individual tickets are $20 each. Find out more information and purchase tickets here.
