Update April 22, 2024: After further investigation from the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, deputies have concluded the alleged shooting incident did not occur as initially reported.

“Although shots were fired in the home, the circumstances initially reported that lead to those shots were false,” said a news release from CCSO. “In fact, all evidence indicates that the report was entirely false. Our investigation has determined that no ‘home invasion’ incident took place.”

CCSO felt it was important to provide an update to reassure the residents in the surrounding area that there is no cause for concern or alarm.

HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Early Tuesday morning, shots were fired at a residence in the 1200 block of Lake Morris.

The victim on the scene told deputies they heard noises in the residence and decided to investigate, armed with a firearm. An unknown suspect fired at them, prompting a return fire. The suspect then fled the area, according to a news release from Christian County Sheriff’s Office.

The victim sustained no injuries, the suspects injuries are unknown. Deputies and detectives with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office discovered multiple shots had been fired in and around the home.

This incident is still under investigation.
