HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – COVID-19 vaccinations were paused for weeks at the Christian County Health Department, but as of Oct. 5, they are available once again.
The lapse in available vaccines came while the department waited for an updated version of the shots. Now, they have received grant and private Moderna COVID-19 vaccines that are updated and effective. They are available now on a walk-in basis during regular business hours.
In a release, the Health Department stresses the importance of vaccinations, “We encourage all individuals to stay up to date on both flu and COVID-19 vaccines, as well as other important vaccinations. The Christian County Health Department continues to offer free at-home COVID-19 rapid test kits available for pick up at the front desk of CCHD located at 1700 Canton Street.”
People who are uninsured only pay $20 for the vaccine, and insurance is accepted. Flu shots are available for walk-ins as well. People with questions about vaccinations can call the Christian County Health Department at 270-887-4160.
