HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Everyone in the community is invited to attend the Veterans Honor Parade on Nov. 11 in downtown Hopkinsville.

Rachel Sanders with Hopkinsville Parks & Recreation says that this year, the route will extend half a mile down Virginia Street and will begin at the War Memorial Building, and turn left onto Ninth Street towards the Justice Center.

Veterans that participate in the parade will either be walking the route or riding in the designated float waving small American flags. The parade will conclude with a closing ceremony at the Justice Center that will honor veterans.

The parade will start at 10 a.m., school marching bands and JROTC members will also be participating. Sanders says that if there is severe weather, the JROTC challenge and veterans ceremony will be held inside the Memorial Building.
