HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Visit Hopkinsville had a ribbon cutting with the Christian County Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday afternoon. The ceremony commemorated the Batter Bus and celebrated Amy Rogers for her new role as executive director.

Community members gathered to explore the re-vamped visitor’s center and board the Batter Bus, affectionately nicknamed Sasha Cake by Rogers. Despite having owned the bus for the last year, she expressed her intention to spotlight the bus through various tours to the public, “I am going to be partnering with our distilleries, and local farms so people can go on to take local tours,” Rogers said.

In February, she was named interim director of the bureau, and in March she received the title of executive director.  Rogers explained that her love for the community and her passion for the people makes it easy for her to do her job.

“I pinch myself every day, it’s kind of surreal,” Rogers said. “It’s a dream come true.”

Along with new tours, the Batter Bus will provide transportation for Cayce Days with the museum, in honor of local clairvoyant Edgar Cayce. The Batter Bus can be found in front of the Hopkinsville-Christian County Convention and Visitors Bureau, 1730 East Ninth Street.
