HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – In anticipation for this year’s GoblinCon in August, Visit Hopkinsville is hosting an alien themed cake decorating contest with the community. There are ten slots available for amateur and aspiring decorators, giving them a chance to show off their paranormal buttercream skills during the contest in April.

The event will serve as a premier fundraiser for GoblinCon 2026, which is Hopkinsville’s UFO & Paranormal Expo. The first iteration of the expo was held in August of 2025 in line with the anniversary of the Little Green Men Encounter, acknowledging Christian County’s unique connection to the paranormal.

The “Area 270: The Frosting Files” contest will be held on April 18. Participating decorators will be supplied with a prebaked two-tier cake that they are able to decorate in an alien/science fiction/paranormal theme in just an hour and a half.

The contest will be open to the public, where people can purchase a ticket to watch the decorating unfold in person, or via livestream. All funds raised through contest registration and ticket sales will benefit the expo. Find a full list of rules and register to participate on the GoblinCon website.
