HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A man was arrested Tuesday for drug trafficking after synthetic marijuana and meth were found in his possession during an arrest.

47-year-old Tremayne Welch of Hopkinsville had an active warrant out for his arrest for two domestic violence charges for strangulation and assault. He was located on Dec. 2 by deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office at the 300 block of Braden Street.

During his arrest, deputies found eight baggies containing methamphetamine, weighing a total of 12 grams. A container in the suspect’s vehicle held approximately 114 grams of synthetic marijuana and digital scales, according to the arrest report. A marijuana cigarette and glass pipe were also found.

Welch was transported to the Christian County Jail and charged with Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine), Trafficking in Synthetic Drugs-1st Offense (Suspected Spice), Possession of Marijuana, Drug Paraphernalia and Served an active arrest warrant for Strangulation 1st Degree (Domestic Violence) and Assault 4th (Domestic Violence).
