HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Christian and nearby counties because of heavy thunderstorms moving through the area.
The National Weather Service issued the warning through 12:30 a.m.

At 6:23 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area, the NWS said.
Expect flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
“Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles,” the NWS said.

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 3am. Low around 70. South wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
Wednesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7am, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 7am and 9am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 9am. Partly sunny, with a high near 86. Southwest wind 6 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Wednesday night: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8pm. Mostly clear, with a low around 63. Southwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming west northwest after midnight.
