HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – There are a good variety of events to check out this weekend around Christian County to have fun and avoid the heat if you want. Swap books and plants with others in the community, check out a market, attend a book signing, or head up to Crofton for a delicious plate of fried fish.
Gordon Park Fish Fry: On Friday July 18, Gordon Park in Crofton will be hosting their Fish Fry Fundraiser from 4:30 p.m. through 8 p.m. All dinners include fried fish, coleslaw, fries, white beans, hushpuppies, dessert, and a drink. Adult plates are $14 and kids are $6. Cash or check only.
Free Plant Swap: Ruffled Willow is hosting a free Plant Swap on July 19 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Bring extra plants or cuttings and exchange them for something new. It’s a fun way to grow your collection, meet fellow plant lovers, and share tips. Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, everyone is welcome! Don’t miss out on this chance to connect and add some fresh greenery to your home.
Community Book Swap: On July 19 at 1 p.m. at the Book and Bottle Shop, refresh your bookshelves without spending a dime, unless you want wine. Bring a book (or several) and plan to leave it behind in place of another interesting title. After gathering everyone’s submissions, each participant will take turns pulling new books blindly. After each participant has pulled a new book, a barter and trade period will take place for any needed switches.
The Village Market in Hopkinsville: Saturday, come and shop a large assembly of local farmers providing seasonal produce, meats, plants, herbs, bakers, local artisans, boutiques, small businesses, food trucks and more. This event will be at The White House at 1720 Marie Drive from 9 a.m. through 3 p.m.
Book signing: Blush & Bashful Romance Bookshop will welcome author Andrea Jenelle back to the store for a signing for her new releases. Come say hello to her next Saturday July 19 12 p.m.-4 p.m.
