HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – This weekend is a great chance to adopt a dog or cat, cook up some barbecue, listen to live music at the Alhambra Theatre, and find some unusual items during Kentucky’s largest yard sale!

Dog Days of Summer: The CCAS, 2935 Russellville Road is hosting their largest adoption event of the summer. There will be local vendors, food trucks and lots of adorable cats and dogs ready for adoption. The event spans Thursday, June 6-9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Squealin’ on the Square: The 6th Annual Squealin’ on the Square combines this summer’s heat with the sweet taste of BBQ! Downtown Hopkinsville will be live with music from Xtraordinary Gentlement taking the Founders Square, 110 West 9 Street. The event will begin Friday, June 7 at 6 p.m.

The WannaBeatles: Originally starting in Nashville at a local restaurant, The WannaBeatles have since been nominated for a Grammy, written songs for Paul McCartney, and have had national TV attention. Fortunately for us, they’re making a stop here at the Alhambra Theatre, 507 South Main Street. The music will start on Friday, June 7 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $38-$50.

Paint Party: Come out and join Dabbling DaVinci at Hoptown Nutrition, 1226 Skyline Drive and paint a patriotic gnome on canvas. All supplies provided. The event is on Saturday, June 8 at 2 p.m. and tickets are $35.

400 Mile Yard Sale: People in Christian County are setting up their tables, cleaning out their houses, and dusting off their items in the garage to prepare for Kentucky’s annual 400 mile yard sale event along Highway 68. This four-day event spans from Thursday, June 6-9 and sites can be found on the 400 Mile website.
