HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Catch a high school football game, paint a portrait of your pet, pick some pumpkins, and experience Native American culture. All of this and more is going on this weekend in Christian County.
Hopkinsville vs Christian County football game: Hopkinsville High will play host to Christian County High School in a varsity football contest on Sept. 6, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. The game will be held at the Stadium of Champions. This game will also serve as the HHS 1984 State Runner-Up alumni recognition game.
Christian Way Farm fall activities opening day: On Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., pick a pumpkin from the patch, choose a pumpkin or other fall favorite from their selection in the country store, take a ride around the farm on the hayride, climb on the hay castle, grind corn, and wind around the corn maze.
37th Annual Trail of Tears Pow Wow: The Pow Wow will take place Sept. 7-8 with grand entry at 1 p.m. both days. People from across the entire country are expected to gather at the Trail of Tears Commemorative Park in Hopkinsville for the 37th Annual Trail of Tears Pow Wow. The historical park is the first certified site along the trail and carries significant meaning for Native Americans.
Paint Your Pet Fundraiser for the Christian County Animal Shelter: Join them for a fundraiser to benefit the Christian Co. Animal Shelter. Paint Your Pet Party at Hopkinsville Brewing Co. on Saturday, Sept. 7 from 3-5 pm! They will be donating pet food for every person that signs up! They will sketch your pet on a canvas before you arrive so you’re all set and ready to go!
Dancing with our Stars: on Sept. 7 at 5 p.m., local celebrities will compete in the fifth Dancing with our Stars. Sanctuary & Pennyroyal Arts Council benefit from this fan favorite event featuring local celebrities coached by the pros.
9/11 Prayer and Tribute Workout: The Hopkinsville Christian County YMCA is honored to once again host the 9/11 Prayer and Tribute Workout on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024, at the Stadium of Champions. This meaningful event aims to bring the community together in remembrance and reflection.
Butterfly Fest: The 16th Annual Butterfly Festival is returning to Oak Grove on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the War Memorial Walking Trail, 101 Walter Garrett Lane. Expect a mesmerizing sight as over 2,000 butterflies are set to be released into the air.
