HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A single family home in downtown Hopkinsville caught fire late Wednesday night, leaving residents displaced.
According to the Hopkinsville Fire Department, they received notification of the fire at a West First Street residence around 11:30 p.m. on Aug. 13. Crews were able to arrive on the scene within three minutes, and found the home well involved in fire.
All six residents were able to safely evacuate before emergency crews arrived. Three fire stations worked to extinguish the fire, but the home was declared a total loss. Payton Rogers with HFD told Christian County Now that an exact cause has not been determined, but they believe the fire started in or around the carport area, quickly spreading to the home.
