William “Bill” Earl Massie, 67, of Hopkinsville passed away at home on February 17, 2024.

Bill graduated from Hopkinsville HS in 1976 and worked at Grupo Antolin. He lived in 40-plus states, worked in the oil fields, and was an Army veteran. Bill loved playing chess, being a dad, playing PlayStation, FSU, UK, cars & and being a DJ. He was an amazing and present father, he was a great friend, he was a kind brother, and he was a loving grandfather and great-grandfather.

Survivors include his daughters, Jessica Massie, of Trimble, TN, and Annice (Mike) Pearce of Louisville.  Bill is also survived by brothers Greg Massie of Hopkinsville, and Alan (Marissa) Massie of League City, TX, and sisters Anita (Marty) Schroeder of Hopkinsville, Jody (Randy) Chavez of Friendswood, TX, and Debbie (Michael) Urdiales of Hopkinsville.  Survivors also include his grandchildren Josh, Jamie, Jacob, Wyatt, Michael William, and Harlow, and great-grandchild, Brandon.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, the late William and Josephine Pernestti Massie. He was also preceded in death by sister Anna (Peewee) Hartgrave and great-grandson Michael Dixon.

The family has entrusted Dogwood Funerals and Cremations to manage the arrangements. To fulfill his wishes, Bill will be cremated, and his Celebration of Life will be in late April in Hopkinsville when the weather is warmer and the flowers are out, as this was his favorite time of year. Details of Bill’s Celebration of Life will be communicated through social media.
