HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for Christian County ahead of anticipated storms on Wednesday. The advisory is in place for March 19 between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m., with gusts over 40 mph possible.

The winds will ramp up early in the morning and continue through the day and into the evening, according to the NWS. A band of showers and thunderstorms will develop near the Mississippi River heading east ahead of a cold front in the afternoon. Some storms may be severe, developing Wednesday afternoon after 1 p.m.

There is a currently a 60% chance of precipitation possible on Wednesday in Christian County, lowering to 40% overnight. The high will rise to nearly 70 degrees.
