HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Winds gusts between 40 and 45 mph are expected in Christian County today as a cold front comes through the area. The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory through 5 p.m. on Dec. 31.

Gusts have the potential to uproot trees due to the wet ground, and tree limbs could be blown down according to NWS in Paducah. Drivers are encouraged to use extra caution on the roadway, especially those driving large and high-profile vehicles.

A hazardous weather outlook from the NWS also warns of a potential winter storm coming through the area on Jan. 5. Chances of rain and snow are predicted through the weekend, with more snow possible on Jan. 6.
