HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – After days of freezing temperatures in Christian County, today will only warm up to 30 degrees with lots of sunshine helping melt snow on the roads. But the wind chill will continue to bring temperatures all the way to -4 degrees with gusts as high as 21 mph.

Although crews have been working to clear roads, secondary roads and parking lots are still pretty slick. Christian County Public Schools, and Hopkinsville Community College have been closed the past two days.

Freezing rain and snow is likely tomorrow with an 80% chance of precipitation, according to the National Weather Service. New ice accumulation is expected on top of the already existing snow and ice. Snow may fall again Thursday night after 9 p.m. with more freezing rain in the evening. A Hazardous Weather Outlook from the National Weather Service continues for the rest of the week with dangerously cold wind gusts popping up again Friday.
