Learn and Thrive: The Co-Op Student Experience Panel Discussion

  • When: Jan. 13 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.
  • Where: Pennyrile Electric

  • Details: Join local employers and students for an engaging panel discussion highlighting the impact of work-based learning in Christian County. The event will feature employers who partner with the Co-Op program alongside students currently participating, sharing real-world experiences and success stories. The discussion will be moderated by Kelly Gates, workforce program specialist for Christian County Public Schools, and will focus on the value of employer engagement and how businesses can get involved in shaping the future local workforce.

Alcohol Free Pairing Party

  • When: Jan. 16 from 5 to 7 p.m.
  • Where: Location not specified
  • Cost: $20 with pre-purchase; $25 day of event
  • Details: Celebrate Dry January with a curated pairing of alcohol-free wines and classic cheeses. Guests can choose four pairings from six specially selected wine and cheese combinations designed to complement each other. The event encourages adventurous tasting and exploring new flavor profiles as part of the shop’s monthly pairing parties. Pre-purchasing guarantees a discounted rate and secures your spot.

Corner Coffeehouse Reading Group: In Peace and Freedom

  • Details: Join the Corner Coffeehouse Reading Group during MLK weekend for a discussion of In Peace and Freedom: My Journey in Selma, the memoir by civil rights leader Bernard Lafayette Jr., a former associate of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

MLK Day March and Program

  • Where: March at Freedom Elementary School, ends at Hopkinsville Community College’s Auditorium Building

  • Details: Hosted by the Hopkinsville-Christian County Human Rights Commission and community partners, the annual MLK Day March and Program honors the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The march will start at Freedom Elementary School and conclude with a program at Hopkinsville Community College.

The Outsiders: Free movie night

  • When: Jan. 20 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Where: The Alhambra Theater
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: Registration is not required to attend a free movie night in downtown Hopkinsville featuring The Outsiders, concessions will be for sale.

Stranger Things Trivia Night

  • When: Jan. 20 at 7 p.m.
  • Where: Davo’s Burgers and Fries

  • Details: Family-friendly Stranger Things–themed trivia. Top three teams win gift cards.

HHS and Friends Jazz Collective Fundraiser

  • When: Jan. 21 at 6 p.m.
  • Where: Alhambra Theatre
  • Cost: $25
  • Details: Benefit concert supporting the Hopkinsville High School Jazz Ensemble, featuring guest musicians from NKU and Murray State. Proceeds help fund HHS’s first-ever KMEA Conference appearance.

Jazz on Stage: A Tribute to the Women Composers in Jazz

  • Where: Alhambra Theatre

  • Details: The Sofia Goodman Group headlines this Jazz on Stage performance honoring influential women composers in jazz, featuring music by Melba Liston, Carla Bley, Alice Coltrane, Esperanza Spalding and more.

Winter Book Sale

Open Mic Poetry Night

  • When: Jan. 24, 6:00 p.m.
  • Where: The Book & Bottle Shop, 123 E. 9th St., Hopkinsville
  • Cost: Free
  • Details: Share original poems, perform a favorite author’s work, or simply enjoy a night of creativity. Theme: “New Beginnings” (optional). Early registration available for performers; remaining spots open at the door. Performances limited to five minutes or three poems/pages of prose. Original work encouraged; published works allowed with credit.

Hopkinsville Lip Sync Battle

  • When: Jan. 25 at 9 p.m.
  • Where: The Alhambra Theater
  • Details: A live performance where the audience pick the winner as teams from across the city compete on stage while raising money for Joy Closet.

Paint Your Pet Fundraiser for the Christian County Animal Shelter

  • When: Jan. 25, 1:00–3:00 p.m.
  • Where: Hopkinsville Brewing Company, 102 E. 5th St., Hopkinsville
  • Cost: $45
  • Details: Create a one-of-a-kind painting of your pet! Text a photo of your furry friend ahead of time so it can be pre-sketched on canvas. Supplies and one drink included. Event is individual-style; suggestions provided, but not instructed. Proceeds benefit the Christian County Animal Shelter.

Boos and BBQ at The Knight House

  • When: Jan. 31, 6:00–11:00 p.m.
  • Where: The Knight House, 1417 E. 7th St., Hopkinsville
  • Cost: $50
  • Details: Enjoy an evening of history, ghost hunting, and delicious food! Dinner catered by G’s BBQ includes pulled pork, mac & cheese, green beans, potato salad, cornbread, garden salad, and drinks. Inaugural Hoptown Hoppers Blitzball Tournament
