HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Human Rights Commission in Hopkinsville shared that a contingency plan is in place for the MLK Day march on Monday if winter weather occurs. Currently, the National Weather Service is predicting a chance of snow Monday with a high of 21 degrees.

The public will be notified on the HRC Facebook page no later than 7 a.m. on Monday if anything changes.

The march is scheduled to begin at Freedom Elementary School at 9 a.m. and will end at the Hopkinsville Community College auditorium with a program to follow. A shuttle service back to Freedom Elementary will be available.

Prizes will be awarded to students who submitted work for the MLK Day art contest, and The Salvation Army will be at HCC to collect coats for a coat drive.
