HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – On Dec. 8, Hopkinsville Police began investigating a methamphetamine and fentanyl overdose after a woman was found dead on West 20th Street in Hopkinsville. A suspect was brought to the Hopkinsville Police Department on Dec. 29 for questioning about her involvement, according to HPD.

It was determined in the interview that she provided the deceased with the narcotics that caused the overdose, said a report from the arresting officer. The suspect initially resisted arrest and kicked officers who attempted to put handcuffs on her.

After her arrest, officers got a search warrant for her home and found cocaine, Suboxone, Clonazepam, Gabapentin, and Naproxen. The police report specifies none of the medications were in their proper containers, and scales, pipes, and other drug paraphernalia were also found.

The suspect is facing multiple charges including second degree manslaughter, drug trafficking, resisting arrest, and drug possession.
