CROFTON, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A woman was killed Sunday afternoon in a car accident on Interstate 169.
Around 2 p.m. on July 27, KYTC said that both northbound lanes of the roadway in Crofton were blocked by the crash, with traffic detouring at Exit 11. The accident took multiple hours to clear.
Payton Rogers with HFD said the vehicle was in the emergency lane during the time of accident, with an adult male and female inside the car. The other woman was outside securing the luggage on their vehicle when the vehicle was struck, according to KSP.
According to the Hopkinsville Fire Department, bystanders were performing CPR when emergency crews arrived. An adult woman identified as Krystin Marie Bowling from Massillon, Ohio was pronounced dead at the scene, with the Christian County Coroner’s Office responding. Another adult male occupant was transported for further evaluation.
Kentucky State Police is currently investigating the accident.
