HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A 46-year-old woman was arrested over the weekend after an accident on the Eagle Way Bypass.
On June 29 at 9 p.m., deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office pulled over to assist an accident in the turning lane of the Parkway. The woman was seen slumped over in the driver’s seat of an involved vehicle, exhibiting extremely slurred speech and delay reactions when responding to deputies, according to a news release from CCSO.
A K9 unit began to search the vehicle, and was alerted to several miscellaneous pills, marijuana, and a glass pipe. Deputies say the woman became enraged, attempted to attack a K9 deputy and walk into traffic. She was arrested and is facing charges for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or substances, no registration, possession, and attempted assault on a police officer.
