LAFAYETTE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Lafayette in Christian County is once again hosting its Movies in the Park series for the second year, bringing the joy of outdoor cinema to the smallest city in the county.

Kicking off last Friday, the event takes place at Lafayette City Park, conveniently located on the left at you enter the town. Attendance typically ranges from 10 to 30 people, depending on the weather, as noted by Lafayette Mayor Thatcher.

All movies featured are family-friendly selections, carefully chosen by city commissioners and their families. Commissioner Brandon Bourneman and his wife take charge of organizing the event, ensuring a fun experience for guests. Popcorn is provided to enhance the movie-watching experience.

Mayor Thatcher has expressed the city’s commitment to continue the series with four more movies planned for the fall season.

The upcoming movie in the park will be Charlies and the Chocolate Factory on Friday, April 26. Following that, The Lion King will premier May 10, and the season will conclude on May 24 with The Secret Life of Pets. All movies begin at 7:30 p.m.
