HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Pennyroyal Center in Hopkinsville aims to be a beacon of hope for those navigating mental health challenges. The center offers a variety of services for individuals including one-on-one therapy, group therapy, mental illness management, crisis services and more.

At the Kiwanis meeting on May 9, Ashley Beamon, coordinator of crisis services with the Pennyroyal Center talked about their clinics and treatment facilities for men and women for substance abuse and mental health. Along with adult programs, the Pennyroyal Center offers youth services such as transition age coordination, school-based therapy, early childhood programs, and in the near future a youth peer support group.

“A lot of times we have programs during the summer so the kids can come out and socialize, like some type of wellness activity as well,” Beamon said.

For all ages, crisis stabilization and emergency services are available. Beamon explains their crisis program is short-term and serves to help people in immediate need such as someone who lost a loved one, a failed relationship, lost their home to a fire, car accident, and more. “The program provides therapy and crisis management to help fill that void,” Beamon said.

The Pennyroyal Center also has housing for those living with addiction as part of a long-term recovery program.

Beamon also shared that they are in the process of a creating a program for those with autism. “Autism is very prevalent and the services are very minimal right now.” Currently, the Pennyroyal Center is in the hiring process to fill the program up.
