HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet continues their work of reviving roads around Hopkinsville with more resurfacing projects. This process involves milling, or stripping down the roads, and covering them with fresh asphalt. It is a process that is likely to affect traffic flow at the end of September.
A news release said, “Weather permitting, asphalt resurfacing projects will be addressed in the City of Hopkinsville.”
Three projects are included:
- Canton Street between North Drive and South Virginia Street.
- Country Club Lane stretching from Canton Street to Fort Campbell Boulevard.
- Skyline Drive between Fort Campbell Boulevard to Pembroke Road.
In addition to these projects, Interstate 24 Eastbound will be reduced to one lane near the KY 117 overpass bridge starting Sept. 11. Necessary repairs to the overpass will be taking place and is estimated to last 3 weeks.
