HOPKINSVILLE, KY – The Salvation Army of Hopkinsville is pleased to announce the appointment of Lieutenants David and Brittney Donegan as the new corps officers, effective June 17. The Donegans bring a wealth of experience and a passion for community service to their new roles.
Prior to their appointment in Hopkinsville, the Donegans served for three years as corps officers in Paducah. During their tenure there, they made significant contributions to the Paducah community through various programs and initiatives, including homeless outreach, social services, the Support Service for Veteran Families program, and extensive community engagement through their community center. They also played a pivotal role in The Salvation Army’s emergency disaster response following the Heartland tornadoes that heavily affected the region in December 2021.
In their new roles, the Donegans will oversee all Salvation Army operations in Christian, Todd, and Trigg counties. Their responsibilities will encompass emergency financial assistance, social services, community outreach programs, the worship center, homeless shelter, soup kitchen, and the new Life Navigation Community Hub.
“We are honored and excited about this new chapter in our ministry,” said Lt. David Donegan. “We look forward to serving the Hopkinsville community, building on the strong foundation laid by our predecessors, and continuing to provide hope and support to those in need.”
Originally from the Nashville area, the Donegans bring an extensive business background to their ministry. They were commissioned as Salvation Army officers in 2021. The couple has one son, Ryan, who is five years old.
The Salvation Army of Hopkinsville invites the public to a welcome Sunday service to meet the new officers. The service will be held on Sunday, June 23, at 11:00am, at The Salvation Army of Hopkinsville, located at 304 East 7th Street.
