HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Calvin Warren has been awarded as the Third District Kentucky Music Educators Association High School Music Teacher of the Year.

“We would like to offer our sincerest congratulations to Mr. Warren,” said CCPS Superintendent Chris Bentzel. “Mr. Warren is an extremely talented musician, and we are honored to have him as a part of our music program at Christian County Public Schools.”

The KMEA award is presented to a teacher who exemplifies teaching excellence in music education. Warren has 15 years of teaching experience under his belt and is currently the assistant band director and percussion leader at Christian County High School.

Throughout his time teaching, Calvin Warren’s ensembles have received distinguished ratings, and have had performances at the KMEA State Conference and State Finals. His accolades are continued with various honor band clinics and participations in All-State Bands.

Aside from his experience as a teacher, he is also an active arranger and sound designer for many local high schools. He also is in demand as a clinician for sound and audio for the pageantry arts and as a percussion consultant.
