HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The city of Hopkinsville has erected a sign in the future site of what will be Rotary Park. Nestled on Pardue Lane, in close proximity to the dog park and Rail Trail, the new inclusive park will be designed with special needs children in mind.
“Together, we are raising funds to build a park where all children can play, learn, and grow in a safe and nurturing environment,” said a post from the City of Hopkinsville. “This special spot on Pardue Lane is set to become a beacon of inclusivity and joy.”
Although the sign for the park is new, this project has been in the works for quite some time with Hopkinsville Rotary Club previously contributing $100,000 for an all-inclusive playground, and to receive naming rights.

The park was last discussed during a previous Hopkinsville City Council meeting on May 7, where Public Works Director Mike Perry shared that the grant process was delayed.
“Engineers finalized plans and drawings in February 2024 after several revisions, the city grant writer forwarded to the state grant representative with appropriate paperwork for review,” Perry previously told Christian County Now. A timeline for construction is unclear at this time.
