CHRISTIAN COUNTY, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – A woman is facing several charges including DUI after she assaulted deputies during her arrest Saturday evening.
On Aug. 22 at 5 p.m. deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office were called about a vehicle whose driver was tossing liquor bottles out the window.
A news release from CCSO says the vehicle was driven by a 63-year-old Kimberly Binder of Hopkinsville. She was located on Monkey Norman Road. She showed several signs of being under the influence, including slurred speech and difficulty maintaining her balance.
While taking her into custody, she punched a deputy, made several threats to assault the deputy, and then kicked a deputy while at the hospital, according to CCSO. Damage consistent with sideswiping something was found on her rental car.
The woman was taken to the Christian County Jail and was charged with reckless driving, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol third offense, menacing, resisting arrest, third-degree assault of a police officer, first-degree criminal mischief, third-degree terroristic threatening, second-degree disorderly conduct, and failure of a non-owner operator to maintain required insurance.
