PEMBROKE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Pembroke Baptist Church is gearing up once again for it’s annual Freedom Celebration event, set to take place on Wednesday, July 3. According to Pastor Andy Haley, the event was initiated about five years ago with the aim of fostering community.

“The church had a desire to bring the community together and bring something for everyone,” said Haley. “We also wanted to make it as free as possible so families can come out and enjoy it.”

Over the years, the celebration has steadily grown in popularity drawing increasing numbers of participants. This year promises to be no different, with a lineup of attractions including free ice-cream, popcorn, karaoke, bouncy castles, a mechanical bull ride, and a trackless train running along Main Street.

Activities will kick off at 6 p.m. at 114 South Main Street and will end at 9 p.m. with a fireworks show provided by the City of Pembroke. Attendees can also look forward to live music, food trucks, a prize wheel, and a dunk tank, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy throughout the evening.
