JROTC members from West Creek, and the Ft. Campbell band also played a big part in this commemorative ceremony.
OAK GROVE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Oak Grove Community Center held a ceremony this morning to commemorate the 22nd anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
JROTC members from West Creek High School led the ceremony with a presentation of colors, while the Ft. Campbell band played.
The ceremony featured many different speakers from the community including Chief Dennis Cunningham from the Oak Grove Police Department, Chief Bill Johnson from the Oak Grove Fire Department, and Oak Grove Mayor Jackie Oliver.
The event was followed by a donated lunch for first responders and their guests, and the police and fire departments were presented with signs and cupcakes. A piece of steel from the World Trade Center was also displayed.
