HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The rodeo is riding into town at the Western Kentucky Fairgrounds in Hopkinsville for two nights of fun. Aug. 16 and 17 will be packed full of riding, roping, and wrestling.
The 25th Annual Christian County Cattleman’s Rodeo will kick off this Friday and Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. Winners will be awarded for bareback bronc riding, saddle bronc riding, calf roping, cowgirl’s breakaway roping, steer wrestling, muley roping, cowgirl’s barrel racing, and bull riding.
30 minutes before each showtime will be a kid’s event, including the kid’s gold rush, and a best dressed cowboy and cowgirl contest. To keep the night moving, people attending will also watch Might Mike Wentworth the rodeo clown, and authentic chuckwagon racing. There will also be a specialty act with Tim Wild Thang Lepard and the Ghost Riders.
Tickets can be purchased at the gate, $20 for adult and $12 for kids, three and under are free. Tickets can also be bought ahead of time at the Lonestar Rodeo website.
