HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Naturefest is returning to Jeffers Bend on Saturday, September 21, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., promising a day packed with family-friendly fun and outdoor activities.
“The Pennyrile RC&D council and the Jeffers Bend Steering Committee have met several times to plan Naturefest as we are anticipating 800 to 1,000 people,” said Charles Turner with Jeffers Bend.
Naturefest brings people from all over Kentucky and North Tennessee to enjoy a day with canoeing, forestry, birding and much more. This year, they will host multiple booths from people in the community along with outdoor activities like hayrides, a petting zoo, corn hole, and disc golf will be on site. New attractions include K9 grooming, tile and rock painting, and solar power activities.
Turner, reflecting on the event’s long tradition since the early 2000’s, is thrilled to see attendees who once came as children now bringing their own families. “It’s an opportunity to continue to educate the public on the value of seeing nature up close and personal,” said Turner.
Admission is $10 per car with active-duty military and first responders free. For more information contact Jeffers Bend Environmental Center at 270-885-5600.
