OAK GROVE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The City of Oak Grove will be providing three large dumpsters for residents to discard excess trash in hopes for a city-wide clean-up between Sept. 14-15.
“We want to clean up our city for the 50-year celebration,” said Oak Grove Community Center Director, Melissa Lynch. To celebrate this milestone, Oak Grove is hosting a historical bus tour, a dinner celebration, a city-wide picnic and a special time capsule burial. “No one wants to take a bus tour and see a bunch of trash on the streets,” Lynch added.
The dumpsters will be placed at Wades Way Park and the old USA Video Store on Pembroke Oak Grove Road. Residents are encouraged to utilize the dumpsters and help their neighbors clean up as well. “Everybody can help everybody, help your neighbors clean,” said Lynch.
The city reminds citizens that trash must be placed in the dumpsters and not beside them, and no appliances or chemicals will be accepted. For more information, call the City of Oak Grove at 270-439-4646.
