HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County surpassed their goal and was able to raise $26,243 at their first ever Museum Gala on Sept. 21. The fundraising event included a cocktail hour, dinner, and music from the Gatsby Gang Jazz Band.

Aiming to raise $25,000, the gala was a huge success as attendees dressed to the nines for a fancy evening inspired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Met Gala. Outside the museum, a red carpet was rolled out and filled with coat tails, top hats, and evening dresses. Many guests dressed to the theme Metamorphosis, Hopkinsville in the 1910’s.

Alissa Keller, the museum’s executive director shares that the night could not have been possible without the artists, the community, and the group of volunteers to make it all happen.  Throughout the night, pieces composed by local artists from the “Create from the Collection” exhibition was on display and available for purchase during a silent auction.
