HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – With visible progress from the street, the future Christian County High School is taking shape on the inside with hallways, staircases, painted walls, and state of the art classrooms already in place.

On Oct. 2, Dr. Jason Wilson Director of Technology at CCPS and point of contact for the construction project, along with Superintendent Chris Bentzel lead a tour through the site of the consolidated Christian County High School. Local media along with community members were taken through the corridors to show the progress and layout of the school.

Although the school sits on a massive campus, the building is broken up into separate wings for different academies. Each student will choose a pathway in engineering, mechanics, arts, heath and community services, business, or agriculture to ensure they are college and career ready.

“Everything about this school and the foundation of it has been very, very strategic,” said Chris Bentzel. I want you to know the foundation of this facility is based upon new high school facilities with strategic plans and workforce demand needs and having a better high school for our kids.”

Some highlights of the school so far include university like common areas, an auxiliary gym holding up to 3,000 students, large security presence with buzzed in entrances, designated teacher areas with conference rooms, kitchens and bathrooms, and an athletic field on site filled with tennis courts, a football field.
