Sherry Lynn Wells, 62, of Hopkinsville, KY died at 9:35 a.m. Sunday, September 17, 2023, at her residence.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2023, at Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery West. Officiating will be Bishop Brian Roberts. Her children and family will serve as pallbearers. Dogwood Funerals & Cremations of Hopkinsville is in charge of arrangements. A visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday September 22, 2023, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Hopkinsville.
A native of Overland Park, Kansas, she was born August 28, 1961, the daughter of the former Randi Owen and the late Richard Joseph Goode. Sherry was a devoted mother, home maker and military wife. She served on the Hopkinsville City Council and was the President of the Fort Campbell School Board. Sherry had a servant’s heart and served in many positions as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
She is preceded in death by her father.
In addition to her husband Clayton Wells, she is survived by sons: Zachary Auld of Kansas City, Kansas; and Benjamin Auld of Louisville, Kentucky; daughters: Jennifer (Michael) Cranney of Pikeville, Kentucky; Alexis (Nicholas) Kelley of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Victoria (Christopher) Jensen of Salt Lake City, Utah; Monica (Justin) Humphrey of Burlington, Kansas; Meredith Auld of Little Rock, Arkansas; and Amanda (Austin) Smith of Logan, Utah; mother; Randi Midgely; and 20 grandchildren.
